One of the most rewarding things about selling on eBay surprisingly was the ability to hire my sister-in-law. Creativity and flexibility are what eBay is all about. So, the ability to support someone else outside of the traditional work sphere is incredible. The amount of flexibility I am able to extend to family, is now one of my foundational small business beliefs.

Anna Packer, creator and owner/operator of Annaesthetic Miscellany, started her eBay journey selling part time in May of 2017. Annaesthetic Miscellany is a homegrown scrappy eBay business that has a little bit of everything.
When she's not adding miscellaneous items to her store, she's working on creative projects including but not limited to writing music and plays, practicing and performing, cooking, podcasting, and more. Selling on eBay has given her the bandwidth to put more creative energy into her personal endeavors. In her previous career, Anna ran a successful private therapy practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor and taught undergraduate university courses as an adjunct psychology professor.
Anna initially opened her eBay store as a side hustle to her therapy practice, and since 2019 she has run it full time with the help of a couple of fantastic humans and one very busy thermal shipping label printer. She even wrote a book about it – Miscellaneous: Taking Back Your Time Selling On eBay. True to the name, Annaesthetic Miscellany currently has over 12,000 active listings across more than 20 major eBay categories.
