On Friday, eBay’s VP of Global Government Relations & Public Policy, Cathy Foster, hosted the Xiamen China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) at eBay headquarters in San Jose, California. The Xiamen CCPIT is a local partner for seller acquisition and the delegation was composed of executives from over ten trading and manufacturing companies from China’s Fujian Province with business or potential business in the ecommerce sector. Xiamen CCPIT’s Vice-Chairman, Yan Zhiping, led the delegation and attended the visit.
During the visit, Cathy gave an overview of eBay’s businesses and highlighted the fact that the eBay marketplace connects millions of buyers and sellers globally. The group discussed how eBay enables individual sellers and small businesses to grow by providing them with easy access to the global trade. China has substantial cross-border trade (CBT) sales via the eBay marketplace and Chinese sellers have used the platform to ship their products to over 200 countries and regions throughout the world. Recognizing the importance of Chinese sellers to eBay’s platform, eBay’s CBT team in China has been working with Chinese companies to provide specialized services to help Chinese sellers build their own brands.
The eBay Government Relations team would like to thank the Xiamen CCPIT delegation for taking the time to visit eBay and discuss trade.
