eBay participated in a roundtable organized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which convened business representatives, intellectual property (IP) rights holders, and other stakeholders to discuss latest trends and strategies related to anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy.
Anthony Rufo, Senior Legal Counsel, Global Intellectual Property at eBay, participated in a panel discussion entitled Enforcement in the E-commerce Universe. Anthony spoke about the importance of information sharing amongst industry stakeholders and eBay’s proactive relationships with rights owners and law enforcement to combat counterfeits. He also highlighted eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee program as well as recent investments eBay has made—such as the acquisition of 3PM Shield—to better detect counterfeits.
