eBay Launches its Second Retail Revival City

In conjunction with the office of Lansing Mayor Andy Schor, eBay officially launched its second Retail Revival city in Lansing, MI last week. eBay held a kick-off event to commence its support of the more than 50 businesses that have been accepted into the 12-month program. As noted in the program’s motto, “Stay local. Sell global.”, Retail Revival seeks to boost the local business community through eBay’s global marketplace. Over the next year, eBay will provide the selected businesses with personal customer service to strive and help them achieve their potential selling on the platform.

The energy and excitement surrounding the program was felt throughout the entire Lansing minor league baseball stadium, where the kick-off event took place. The participants were eager to learn about how to grow their businesses on eBay. The day began with welcome remarks provided by Lansing Mayor Andy Schor and U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). The Mayor highlighted his excitement for the continued growth of the entrepreneurial community in Lansing, and the Senator emphasized her commitment to small businesses.

The participating businesses attended three breakout sessions throughout the day. The topics included Setting Up Shop, Listing, and Shipping & Returns. Following the sessions, there was a panel discussion with three current eBay sellers and Small Business Ambassadors who spoke about their positive experiences selling on the eBay platform. The day concluded with a reception, continuing the celebration of the official start of the program. Staff from U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) and U.S. Congressman Mike Bishop (MI-08) attended the reception.
