Last month, the eBay Government Relations Team collaborated with Ecommerce Europe, a trade association, on a roundtable at the eBay Export Summit focused on the regulatory challenges that European SMEs face to sell online. Specifically, the discussion detailed how new rules on taxation, product safety, and sustainability could negatively impact cross-border trade within the EU. Yvonne Pop, eBay Director, Global Regulatory Response, also spoke at the Summit about what eBay is doing to help SMEs be compliant.
The annual eBay Export Summit is dedicated to sellers from Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria, of which more than 120 participated. The one-day event is focused on the world of ecommerce and designed to empower eBay sellers in the European Central Markets to expand their reach and boost sales globally. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about exporting and growing their business via the eBay marketplace, meet with eBay representatives, gather tips for success from other small business owners and entrepreneurs and network with potential partners.
