This week eBay hosted Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) at our headquarters in San Jose, CA. Congressman Khanna represents California’s 17th Congressional District, which encompasses part of Silicon Valley, including cities in Santa Clara and Alameda counties. Representative Khanna serves on the House Oversight and Reform Committee, which oversees postal issues that are important to eBay. He is also a member of the House Budget and Armed Services committees as well as the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
During the visit, Representative Khanna met with eBay Interim CEO Scott Schenkel and Cathy Foster, VP of Global Government Relations. After the meeting, eBay’s Diversity & Inclusion and Government Relations teams collaborated to host an employee roundtable with Rep. Khanna. Leaders from many of eBay’s Communities of Inclusion (COIs) attended as well, as did employees from a range of business units. Damien Hooper Campbell, eBay’s Chief Diversity Officer, spoke about how eBay is using tech for good by providing a platform that enables small businesses to succeed. The group also discussed how eBay’s COIs are helping to make eBay a great place to work and how eBay can continue to expand economic opportunity in Silicon Valley and beyond.
eBay would like to thank Representative Khanna for visiting us. We look forward to working with him on policy issues impacting eBay, our customers, and our workforce.
