This week the eBay Government Relations team will be hosting its 12th annual “US of eBay Advocacy Day” on Capitol Hill. More than 20 eBay sellers from across the country will be joining us in Washington, DC to advocate for all small, internet-enable US business. These Small Business Ambassadors will be meeting with their representatives from the Executive branch and members of Congress to discuss a variety of important issues, including Internet sale tax and cross-border trade. We will be capping our Advocacy Day with a special event that will provide attendees, including members of Congress and other policy leaders, with an opportunity to learn how eBay entrepreneurs impact the global economy and reinforce the important role small businesses play in the US economy.
Not coincidentally, this week also happens to be National Small Business Week (NSBW). Each year since 1963, the President has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of NSBW. This year NSBW will be held from Sunday, April 30 to Saturday May 6. National events are planned for Washington, DC, New York City, Indianapolis, Dallas and Fresno, CA. In addition to live events, the Small Business Administration and its NSBW sponsors will be hosting a series of webinars and webcasts. As a NSBW co-sponsor, eBay is proud to promote these activities.
