In March, the U.S. Senate passed the bipartisan Postal Service Reform Act (HR 3076) by a strong bipartisan 79-18 vote. Today, President Biden signed the bill into law. The Postal Service Reform Act will eliminate much of the Postal Service’s debt and restructure some of its operations. Additionally, the new law codifies USPS’s 6-day delivery network for both mail and packages - rejecting proposals to split mail and packages into separate networks, which would have resulted in inefficiencies and increased prices. This is the first major legislative reform of USPS that Congress has passed in 15 years and provides significant financial relief as USPS works to improve services and operations.
On behalf of the millions of small businesses across the country that rely on USPS, eBay applauds Congress for passing – and the President for signing - this important piece of legislation.
