At the end of June, an Uruguayan delegation visited eBay Inc. in San Jose. The group of nearly 70 public and private sector leaders from Uruguayan government agencies, technology companies and universities were in California visiting various Silicon Valley companies, startups and VC firms.  The delegation's Silicon Valley visit objective was to gain industry knowledge and expertise on local and global entrepreneurial opportunities, especially in relation to commerce.

The Uruguayan delegation received an eBay Inc. update from Government Relations' Chief of Staff Richard Nash and PayPal Latin America update from PayPal LATAM Director of Market Development Fernando Moreno.  The majority of the group also participated in an eBay Inc. Site Engineering Campus tour and the PayPal Shopping Showcase while top Uruguay officials and business leaders including Dr. Diego Cánepa, Representative of the President of the Republic, Roberto Kreimermann, Minister of Industry and Secretary of State and Carolina Cosse, President of ANTEL met with PayPal LATAM Vice President Rohan Mahadevan to discuss in greater detail current Uruguyan public policy and business priorities.
