Last week, Senior Vice President of PayPal Rupert Keeley participated at the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) CEO Summit that took place September 7-8 in Vladivostok, Russia.
While at the Summit Rupert Kelley addressed a panel session on Emerging Markets Middle Class: The New Consumer. Other panellists include Bernd Schmitt, Executive Director, Institute on Asian Consumer Insight and Wang Hongzhang, Chairman, China Construction Bank.
With a view to strengthening relationship and fostering dialogue, Rupert met several senior government leaders during the Summit including Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, Russian Federation First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov and Dr. Sundaran Annamalai, Undersecretary for Economics and International Division, Ministry of Finance, Malaysia.
The APEC CEO Summit is an annual business forum for representatives of the Asia-Pacific business elite, held as a part of a series of meetings organized for Heads of State and senior government officials from all APEC member economies. At the Summit, business leaders have the opportunity to share their views and search for solutions in an open multilateral dialogue with government leaders.
