The eBay Government Relations team hosted its first in-person event since the start of the pandemic. This was also our first meeting with new Members of the German Parliament since Federal elections were held in Germany in September of 2021. As the pandemic did not allow for in-person meetings or events, this was our first chance to introduce our Germany-focused projects - and several local sellers - to the Members of Parliament. A total of fifteen Members of Parliament and staffers took part in this Berlin-based event.
Managing Director for Germany, Oliver Klinck, presented eBay’s position and our local project “eBay Deine Stadt”. eBay Deine Stadt is one of our key initiatives supporting eBay as the platform of choice for small business sellers. It is a scalable platform that has been replicated in 30 German cities. Four sellers, who successfully sell on eBay while also running brick-and-mortar stores, presented their stories and their online experiences. This led to a lively discussion that showed the huge interest of the event participants.
eBay would like to thank both the Members of Parliament, their staff and our great sellers for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend our event.
