On Monday, March 11th, PayPal General Counsel and Vice President, John Muller, testified as an expert witness before the California Assembly Banking & Finance Committee during an informational hearing entitled “Emerging Technology and The Money Transmission Act”.
The European Commission has published the results of a questionnaire asking micro, small and medium-sized businesses for input on what they view as the most burdensome legislation in Europe. We encouraged eBay sellers to contribute their views, and we are confident many sellers did.
On March 5-6, 14 eBay sellers from across the United States represented the eBay Inc. community on Capitol Hill during the 8th annual U.S. of eBay Seller Fly-In event in Washington, D.C. The event included a group dinner and a full lobbying day on March 6.

This week, Senator John Thune (R-SD) and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) introduced the Low Value Shipment Regulatory Modernization Act of 2013, which improves the ability of Internet-enabled small businesses to serve customers across the globe. Similar legislation was introduced by Congressman Aaron Schock (R-IL-18), Congressman Joe Crowley (D-NY-14), and Congressman Bill Owens (D-NY-21).
One of this week's DC Fly-In participants was Stephanie Inge, who has been selling jewelry on eBay for 14 years. She was recently featured in a Dallas Fox News segment, where she discussed her business and her upcoming trip to Capitol Hill.
